Webmaster Thomas Appleton has a Bachelor's in Journalism from the University of Missouri, where he specialized in photojournalism. He currently lives in Manhattan, where he works in digital fundraising for Channel THIRTEEN, the nation's most-watched PBS station.

T R Appleton also independently produces a bi-weekly podcast of "real people" science called, "The Episodic Table of the Elements." The podcast is available at, Apple Podcasts, and wherever else podcasts can be found. It is a free subscription.

Research Director Cynthia Appleton has an MLIS (Master's in Library and Information Sciences) and Post-Baccalaureate Certification in Archival and Records Administration from Wayne State University, Detroit. She has worked at three area colleges in numerous roles, from advisor to registrar to library director; and at the Walter Reuther Library of Urban & Labor Studies; and the Library of the Detroit Institute of Arts.
