Item Unique Identification
A specialty of R W Appleton & Co is IUID. R W Appleton authored an IUID implementation plan for the US Marine Corps LAV. IUID is another crucial component of Sense & Respond, but also an important inventory control element that can stand on its own. It is a universally accepted individualized identification method that has been adopted by the DoD to mark and track all significant assets. When fully implemented, every stakeholder, at every level, gains readily available information to make rational decisions regarding asset management on many levels.
